Decorating this cake was a father/son activity. I think that they did an awsome job.

Birthday dinner
One of his favorite gifts was a rope. He has been asking for one for a couple of months. I love the simpleness of a 4 year old who is satified and even overjoyed with just a rope. When he opened it he was so excited you would have thought that he won a trip to Disneyland or something. He has been tieing things up around the house ever since. We went to the park tonight (it was in the 70's today), and he carried it around the whole time. As long as he doesn't lasso his baby sister I am okay with his new found joy.
Another thing that he has been asking for for a long time, I think back in November was a skateboard. He was so excited to finally get one. I know what you are all thinking-who gives a 4 year old a skateboard? I have thought the same thing but then I thought, oh well, you are only little once so let him have fun. We are praying for no broken bones.

What great photos! Happy Birthday, 4 year old J! I love the cake, what a fun idea (and I love that it was a Daddy-Son activity to decorate it, BRILLIANT!). Looks like you guys had a great turnout for the party & enjoyed the fun...I also love how excited he is about his new rope! YAY FOR SIMPLE TOYS!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Jonathan! The cake looks great, we were going to do that same cake for Porter's 3rd b-day, but- well long story but we didn't. I would still like to sometime though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little boy! Four is such a cute age. I call it the "why age" because it seemed all Vic said at that age was "why mommy"? It looks like he has lots of friends!
