Halloween 2009

My 3 cuties. Right before the ward Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat.

Olivia is our cute little princess. She kept the hat on all night. She loves to dress up. We have a dress up box and she loves to pick things out and put them on. She will walk around the house showing everyone and if you don't say something about how cute she looks she will stand there until you do.
Jonathan the pirate. He had a hard time deciding what he wanted to be this year. It would change daily. When Alan was down sick with the flu he read "Treasure Island." About halfway through the book he started sharing with Jonathan what was going on. Jonathan got so interested that he would go back to the room every few minutes to find out what was happening next. What little boy wouldn't be excited about a little boy, looking for a treasure, fighting pirate, etc... Ever since then he has been all about pirates and buried treasures.

Alli was Mercy Watson the pig princess. Let me explain... At her school they don't have a regular halloween party they have a "Books Alive" party. They have to dress up as a book character and bring the book that it comes from, they get to stand in front of their class and talk about their book and why they chose that character, then they have a parade in the gym so that everyone can see their costume. I think that it is a great idea. I think that anything we can do to get kids excited about books and reading is super. So here she is...
And this is the book. Do you see the resemblance?
Alli loves the Mercy Watson books. They are so cute and funny. If you haven't read them yet you need to, even if you are an adult. You can probably check them out at the library. There are six of them now. The 6th one just came out and Alli got it for her birthday.
