Alan suprised me with a long weekend getaway for just the 2 of us to Navuoo at end of July to see the Navuoo pagent. A young couple in our ward stayed with the kids. I have always wanted to see it and boy was it worth the 7 1/2 hour drive. It is sooooo amazing! For anyone else who hasn't seen it you just have to plan and go. You will not be disappointed.
We had been to Navuoo a couple of years ago with the kids so we saw most of the sites so we saw the few that we had missed and then spent the rest of the time going to the temple and seeing the other shows that are performed during the summer. It was such a wonderful couple of days.

While we were there we got to see one of our favorite missionaries, Sister Patterson, who was a Nauvoo missionary but served in our ward during the winter months. She was serving out at the Carthage jail so we got a special tour. We were lucky to see her because she only had a couple of days left of her mission.
By the Mississippi river where the early pioneers crossed to start their journey west.
