During spring break we mostly just hung out and relaxed but at the end of the week we decided to take a day trip to Columbus Belmont State Park. It is a civil war site. The south tried to stop the north from sending ships down the river by placing a huge chain across the Mississippi river. It didn't work the way they had planned. It slowed the ships down but didn't stop them.
The kids loved climbing on the huge anchor.
It was pretty impressive how massive the chain was.
Jonathan of course loved the cannons.
We also went to a place where the Mississippi and Ohio rivers join. Pretty cool. Although the kids were more interested in all of the dead fish on the beach.
