Christmas 2009

This was our Christmas tree this year, Jonathan picked it out. Isn't it beautiful? We let the kids decorate it anyway they wanted. Can you tell how far up the tree Olivia could reach? The ornaments kept getting higher and higher as the month went on. You gotta love the toddler age.

Christmas Eve dinner with the sister missionaries and our friend Brandy. We kept the tradition that we started last year of eating "Pulkogi" a Korean dish. This year we added "Kimbap," which is similar to Japanese sushi only there is no raw meat. Everything was so delicious and the kids loved all of it.

After dinner we acted out the Nativity. Alli and Jonathan wanted to be the wisemen. (Olivia was our 3rd wisemen/princess super hero) :)

I love this picture of our little wisemen looking up at the star.

Christmas pj's

Jonathan had to have this picture of him and dad. He told Alan how to pose.
The girls

What a handsome boy! He was doing lot of poses and asking us to take his picture. I loved this one.
Christmas Day
These are the kids favorite presents (the ones from Santa)
Digital camera for Alli

Guitar for Jonathan-just like grandpa Burnham's (Jonathan has been wanting a guitar for about 3 years now. Two years ago we got him a toy guitar, and that was fun but he wanted a real one. For the past couple of years we didn't feel like he was old enough but I guess that Santa thought that this was the year.)

I had to put this picture in here to show how much he has wanted a guitar and how much he loves music. About a month before Christmas Jonathan made a "guitar" on the wall out of rubber bands and push pins. He would strum the rubber band and sing songs. Pretty ingenious if you ask me, but then again I am his mom so I am a little partial. He is a very creative kid.

Cabbage patch baby for Olivia-I just love the look of joy on her face.

Her next favorite present was the candy cane in her stocking which resulted in making everything and everyone very sticky. :)

We had our friends the Okuda's over for Christmas dinner and games. They have a son on a mission in the Pocatello mission so if anyone in that area ever sees an Elder Okuda say hi to him for us.

  1. It looks like such a fun Christmas. Have you ever read the book Bee Bim Bop? It's about a little girl that helps her mom make their Korean dish, Bee Bim Bop. I'm sure Alan has had it before. It used to be Porter's absolute favorite book. We would check it out every other time we went to the library (because we would have to return it the other time). Finally after about 6 months of that, I bought our own copy.
