Snow!!!

We had our first snowfall last night and school is canceled today. It is a big deal when we get snow here (any amount) because it doesn't happen very often. Everyone here has been glued to the weather this week in anticipation of this snowfall. It has been the talk of the town. They were predicting 1-2 inches in our area. Everyone panics and runs out and buys up all of the milk, bread and eggs in the store. I should be used to it by now but it still makes me laugh. They don't know what real snowfall is.

As you can see from the picture we only got a skiff, probably around 1/2 inch. Even though we only had just a little bit of snow the kids still had tons of fun playing in it. They will take what they can get I guess.
This was Olivia's first snow. She was very excited to get all bundled up. She couldn't wait to get outside.

She had so much fun.

We found these snow shovels at a discount store last week and decided to buy them for fun even though we don't get very much snow, if any. That was actually one of the things that Jonathan asked for Christmas. :) They had a blast shoveling our driveway and our neighbors. They are good little workers.

Warming up with hot chocolate.

  1. What a fun snow day!! I know, I love the excitement for a few inches (or 1/2 inch...)--big hype down here at my parents' place too but not much on the ground. Olivia is so big!!
