Alli

Here is a post just about things Alli did this summer.
I just love this picture of Alli.  What a beautiful girl.

Alli's hair used to be super curly when she was younger but now that she has gotten older and her hair is longer it is still wavy and has a lot of body but just not as curly so we bought our first set of sponge curlers.  Brought back memories.  The first time we used them, the next morning her hair was still wet when I took them out and not very curly.  I figured out because her hair is so long and thick, that we have to use less hair in each curler and we have to put it up earlier in the evening so it would have a little time to dry before laying on it at night.  Alli sometimes complains about her thick hair but I always tell her that there are so many people who would die for your hair.

Alli and our neighbor Kayla.  She is 1 year older than Alli.  They played a lot this summer, basically when they were both home they were at each others house.

They found a tiny turtle behind Kayla's house.  They named it "swimmy."

We like to take walks on campus on Sunday evenings because it is so nice and peaceful and calm.  Hardly any people out.  I took this picture of Alli and Nicholas on one of those walks this summer.  It was a little warm and humid that night.  You can tell by Nicholas' red cheeks.
This is Alli's best friend Kennedy.  It is not a very good picture because Kennedy's mom took it on her phone.  They took Alli with them to a show that her dad was playing in.  Alli bought a best friends necklace for them while we were in Idaho so they are holding the 2 parts together.
Alli picked up a new hobby this summer.  Baking.  She made this cake(from scratch) all by herself one Sunday for a lady in our ward who we invited over to our house for dinner to celebrate her birthday.  (I made the icing while she made the cake).
Here is the lucky recipient.  She was so happy and the cake was so delicious.
Another Sunday she took it upon herself to make a treat for us while I was taking my much needed Sunday nap.  Luckily it did not involve the stove or oven, just the microwave.  She came up with this delicious creation.  It had vanilla wafers with icing, then marshmallows, and melted chocolate some where in there, some had chocolate chips.  I was quite impressed that she came up with that on her own and they were so good and addicting.  We kept eating and eating them.
