We went on our annual camping trip with my family while we were home. We have to take advantage of going camping while we are in Idaho since in Kentucky you can't get high enough to cool down at night. This year we went to a church camp by Alturas Lake in the Sawtooth mountains. This in my favorite place to camp. Growing up we came here almost every year. Our girls camp was held here and we also had our ward camp outs here. I have lots of great memories in this area and it is also really BEAUTIFUL!
This is my family, we were missing 4 people.
(My sister and her husband had gone home and my brother Tyler and his wife just moved to Tennessee).

I think this is the cutest picture of my dad and Nicholas hanging out together. They have similar facial expressions.

All of the grandsons (except Nicholas and Ian) with grandma. For a while in my family the girls out number the boys but now they are making a come back. There are7 grandsons and 8 granddaughters.

Whenever we go camping my brothers and my dad all have to have a carving project to work on. This year they carved knives and swords for all the little boys (and themselves).
Tom and Clay

And of course the boys loved their swords. Here is Jonathan and Bodee trying them out with a sword fight. Boys will be boys.

We were up camping on a Sunday so we went to church in Stanley. This is the view that we saw through a huge window that was floor to ceiling behind the pulpit. It was really hard to concentrate on the speakers with this majestic sight.

On Monday we spent the day at Alturas Lake. It is a beautiful place but the water is freezing! The kids loved going in the rafts and playing on the beach. It was a great day.
Jerica, Emma, Alli and Mariah

Freezing cold and shivering but he had a great time and jumped in at least a couple more times. He is crazy! :)

I love this picture of Alli with the lake and the beautiful mountains in the background. I love this place!

This is what Jonathan & Bodee did for hours. DIG DIG BUILD BUILD. They had a blast playing in the sand.

Our camping trip would not be complete without my dad playing his guitar & singing while we sing along. It is the highlight for me. We usually sing around the campfire but the mosquitoes were so bad & it was a little chilly so we decided to sing in the lodge. My brother Greg has now started to play the guitar so that he can carry on the tradition. He has really picked it up fast. I guess it runs in the blood & of course a lot of hard work. Way to go Greg! We are proud of you.

Jonathan, Livy & Savannah singing with grandpa. I love Savannah's face. I don't remember what song they were singing but she is really getting into it

Olivia loved my brother Greg's truck. She was always asking to ride in it. She was very clingy to Alan & I for most of the trip (she only sees our families once a year and for a 2 year old that is a lifetime, so she doesn't remember them from last year). Greg was always trying to get her to come to him but she wouldn't until he discovered her love for his truck and then he was in. I hope this love for trucks passes before she becomes a teenager or I am afraid she will fall for the first guy who offers her a ride in his truck. :) And there are an awful lot of trucks in Kentucky.
