Our adventure begins

In July we took our annual month long trip out west to visit family. We decided to take on a new challenge this year and drive. I was not looking forward to this adventure. I was actually dreading it, but I did the best I could to get us prepared for the 2 1/2 day trip. I stocked up on lots of $1 activities, (Micheal's is a great place to look) lots of markers, crayons and coloring things, pipe cleaners are great, movies, games, and lots of snacks.

After dreading it and expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone did great! I highly recommend waking up really early the 1st day and going as far as you can. I think we traveled about 14-15 hours. It was long but it was worth it because then we didn't have to travel as long the next day.

We only had to stay in one hotel. The 1st night we stayed in Kearney, Nebraska and then the next night we made it to my aunts house in Wyoming.

At 3 months Nicholas was the perfect age for the long drive. He just slept and ate. It also helps that he is such a good baby. We as so blessed to have him in our family.

The second night on the rode we stayed with my aunt Coleen & her family in Wyoming. We were so grateful to have a nice place to stay and it was so good to see them again. My kids love them. I think we are going to have to make it a tradition to stop every year.

It was only a couple of days before the 4th so she had little fireworks for the kids to do and of course they loved that. Thanks aunt Coleen for letting us crash at your house and helping to make our long trip more bearable.
