Deer Lake Reunion

Alan's family had a reunion at Deer Lake, Washington. They have had it every other year since 2003. We all love it. This is a picture of all of the people who were there, about 75 people. I think I have explained this before but Alan has 4 siblings and 6 step brothers and sisters. Nicholas is grandchild #47. They now have somewhere around 40 great grandchildren. Alan's oldest niece is only a year younger than me. Alan is the youngest in his family and we are the last ones having kids. Alli has a few cousins that are just a little older than her that she plays with but they mostly play with their 2nd cousins.

The ones who started it all. Alan's parents taking Nicholas on a little ride.

We all stay in cabins for the 3 days that we are there. We got upgraded this year with the addition of baby Nicholas. It was a very nice cabin with a loft where Alli and Jonathan slept, a futon in the living room for Livy and a bedroom for us and Nicholas. This was taken from the living room looking at the kitchen and loft. It was great to have so much space. We all loved it!

We did tons of fun activities in the 3 days we were there.
Sitting around the campfire on the beach.

I think this was the year of playing on the beach and building sand castles. This was the 5th lake or river that we went to. The kids absolutely loved every one and could have done more.

This is them playing in the sand with their 2nd cousins Trent and Jake.
Livy and Jake

Alli with her 2nd cousin Anna. They had fun playing together.
There was of course lots of jet skiing going on.

And boat rides

Alan was brave enough to try wake boarding. He got up long enough for me to take a picture and then wiped out. Way to go ALAN!

I was not as brave as Alan so I knee boarded.
Jonathan even tried knee boarding with the help of Uncle Gary. He held onto the board off the back of the boat. Jonathan of course thought that was awesome and had to tell everyone about it.

Alan's brother Barry and his wife Rachelle fell in love with Nicholas and he loved them. They asked if they could take him home and adopt him (they have 3 kids but they are all grown up). They said that it would be a smooth transition because they wouldn't even have to change his name. There is no way I could do without my little snuggles.

Nicholas loved all of the attention he got. This was his favorite thing to do. Hang out on the beach snuggling with anyone who would hold him and napping.

Carolee and Nicholas

The resort had a fun pyramid to swim out to and play on.

Alan flinging himself off the dock to swim to the pyramid. I think this picture is hilarious.

Jonathan and Alan made it.

There are also paddle boats and canoes.

I think this is the cutest picture ever of Nicholas taking his first ride in a swing. He is so adorable.

They have a playground there that the kids loved playing on.

We also went on a walk on the road that went along side the lake.

Jonathan loves is Uncle Barry.

Alli's walking partner, Anna. They walked the whole way. Some of us turned around half way through or got a ride on the way back but they decided to keep walking and made it. They were little troopers.

We had to have an after hike treat.
They also have hayrides. What a cute family!

All bundled up for the cool night hayride.

We also played lots of games. This one was called Swedish twister. Very fun!
Alan shooting cans during a game of Minute to Win it.
Me trying to stack cups. I think that I won in my group.
As you can see we had a lot of fun for another reunion at Deer Lake. Thanks Mom & Dad for putting this on every 2 years so that we can all get together and have such a great time.
